Stationery distributor New Zealand Office Supplies has been acquired for an undisclosed sum.
The Administrators and NXP, the country’s largest supplier of business supplies and cleaning products to the corporate and government sectors, came to an agreement for the business to change hands overnight.
More than thirty jobs at a nationwide, office supplies firm have been saved thanks to an overnight agreement with the administrator which will see it placed under new ownership.
More than 50,000 bottles of hand sanitiser donated by NXP and an additional 50,000 donated by the Ministry of Education are being urgently delivered to schools throughout the country, ahead of their opening on Wednesday.
Millions of masks and gloves for Kiwi front-line workers have arrived in Auckland after being protected by armed guard. Joe Taylor, CEO of National Express Products, said the guard was necessary because of “questionable tactics” used by some countries to secure PPE.
“Going local … means nurturing locally owned businesses which use local resources sustainably, employ local workers at decent wages and serve primarily local consumers. It means becoming more self-sufficient and less dependent on imports. Control moves from the boardrooms of distant corporations and back into the community where it belongs.”
