Barfoot & Thompson

As a well-established company with a history reaching back almost 100 years, Barfoot & Thompson workspaces reflected their traditional background. They came to NXP with a drive to reduce build costs for branch refits and increase staff collaboration and agility.

NXP’s Business Interiors team had previous experience working with Barfoot & Thompson and were able to leverage an in-depth knowledge of the business when collaborating with them to pioneer a new way of working. From sit/stand and rectilinear workstations to acoustically-designed pods created for small-scale collaboration, NXP implemented a variety of workspace solutions to meet Barfoot & Thompson’s particular needs.

The final design was met with resoundingly positive feedback from Barfoot & Thompson’s senior stakeholders, including the CEO, property team, and company owners, and resulted in a significant per-branch saving in comparison to the more traditional partitioned layout that they were using previously.

NZ Couriers

When the Freightways Group was looking to bring all their Christchurch staff together under one roof with a brand new purpose-built hub, NXP’s fit-out specialists worked alongside them to scope and design an interior solution that not only met the functional needs of each business unit, but carefully worked to a budget which had been set several years before construction even commenced. This consolidation brought together multiple Freightways brands in one building, including NXP’s frequent supplier and customer, NZ Couriers.

In addition to taking Freightways through an initial series of workshops and consultations to identify the project scope, needs, and timelines, another key facet of NXP’s contribution was around education. Our team engaged with key decision-makers, project managers, and office staff to raise awareness of current workplace trends and the ways in which suitable furniture solutions could positively impact a workspace.

Media booths, electric sit-to-stand desks, and X-Code task chairs were all key elements in a proposal that allowed for defined spaces for each business unit, while also facilitating collaboration between staff from multiple units. Having used a more traditional office layout and style in the past, the modernised workspace that NXP implemented came as a welcome refresh for NZ Couriers and was very well received by staff and management alike.

Front + Centre

As Wellington’s premiere meeting and function venue, combining cutting edge technology, excellent service and delicious catering within a relaxed setting, Front + Centre is highly sensitive to both function and form in its interior designs. They came to NXP requiring conference, meeting room, and hot desk furnishings that lived up to their modern, stylish image while still being hard wearing and highly functional.

NXP’s fit-out experts ensured that these standards were more than met, incorporating ergonomically-conscious furnishings that echoed and upheld Front + Centre’s ethos and brand. Even the colour palette was carefully considered, chosen to tie-in with Front + Centre’s existing aesthetic while using contrast elements to create a space that exuded an atmosphere of creativity and innovation.
